The third episode starts off with a very suspicious man who just so happens to stumble upon the dead body of Hae Min Lee in the middle of Leakin Park, which for reference is massive. The man does the right thing by reporting it to the cops but his story is awfully fishy which makes him end up as a suspect. The man says he was drinking and driving on his way to work and had to stop to pee on the side of the road and walked into the trees to get cover and saw some hair sticking out of the dirt. When the cops show up at the scene they can hardly even see the body even when they are aware it is there and one of them almost even steps on the body because it is so well hidden. This makes them think that it is awfully weird that this man happened to pee in the exact spot where the body was and happened to notice that little detail. They question him about what kind of alcohol he typically drinks because they find some empty bottles near the place of the body but he passes the questions without any problems. The next episodes talk about inconsistencies in the stories about how the murder occurred. Adnan’s friend who testifies against him named Jay originally tells a story about how Adnan was going to kill Hae Min Lee and then a couple weeks later changes a lot of the key details about how it happened and what Adnan had told him. Jay also confesses to being with Adnan when they buried the body which raises a lot of questions for me. For one why would he change his story unless he had something to try to cover up and if he was so against it then why would he pick up Adnan and help him bury the body? It also doesn’t add up that Jay says after they buried the body they just drove around and smoked as if nothing had happened. Also why would he not report it to the cops? This makes me feel that Jay may have had a big role in this murder and especially with the alibi of Adnan being seen at the library during the time of the murder, I honestly feel like Jay may have committed the murder and framed Adnan. The more I listen to this podcast, the more that I feel Adnan is innocent. He is the only one who hasn’t changed his story, there are more suspicious characters being added each episode and the only guy that testified against him was definitely involved and has been changing around his story. There was very little evidence linking Adnan to the crime besides maybe Hae Min Lee’s DNA in his car but that would make sense since she often spent time in his car. I just feel like there is not nearly enough evidence to put Adnan in jail for this crime and that it is very likely it could have been someone else. I am looking forward to listening to the next few episodes to compare the information from before and to formulate my own thoughts on how I feel about this case.

Word Count: 579

For my next blog response I listened to the next two episodes of the serial podcast that discuss the location of where the dead body was found and the inconsistencies that have occurred within the…

[1
23
post-425","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-engl200c
["GET
